    This workshop leads educators through the process of assembling a FarmBot, the most advanced and customizable agricultural learning machine. Participants will gain valuable skills in computer aided design (CAD), electrical and mechanical design, and programming. Participants will spend a week working together to build a FarmBot and apply it to a real agricultural scenario. After gaining this experience, ach participant will receive a new, in the box FarmBot Express to take home. This workshop is limited to 10 participants. The workshop is taking place July 18th - July 22nd at STREAMWORKS at the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Valleybrook campus near Kingsport, Tennessee.     This workshop gives educators the opportunity to gain hands on experience in 3D printing. Participants will start from scratch by assembling an Original Prusa MK3S+ printer. After the printer is built, participants will receive expert guidance on how to begin printing. Each participant will receive an Original Prusa MK3S+ printer to take home. This workshop is limited to 10 participants. The workshop is taking place July 25th - 29th at STREAMWORKS at the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Valleybrook campus near Kingsport, Tennessee. Participants will gain valuable skills in computer aided design (CAD), electrical and mechanical design, and programming.  The Barracuda ROV Kit takes you from an analog joystick to full digital control of four motors. Each participant will receive a Barracuda ROV Kit and a DIY frame. This workshop is limited to 10 participants.     This workshop leads educators through the process of assembling a terrestrial robot, such as those used in Robot Drone League. Participants will gain valuable skills in computer aided design (CAD), electrical and mechanical design, and programming. Participants will build a robot and practice programming and flying a drone. During the workshop, educators will learn how to use their robot and drone to work together to complete various tasks. Participants will take home their robot chassis complete with all electronic and a Tello Drone. This workshop is limited to 10 participants.   • This workshop will focus on the introductory SCOUT competition level.  Participants in this workshop will assemble the SeaMATE Store PufferFish kit of parts and a frame for an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV). This workshop is designed for instructors and mentors who are engaged in STEM co-curricular and extracurricular initiatives in both schools and communities. Content lessons and guidelines are utilized during the workshop. The PufferFish kit and guide are aligned to Common Core Standards for ELA and Math, NGSS, ITEEA, ISTE, and P21’s Frameworks for 21st Century Learning. The workshop is taking place March 16th - 17th, at ETSU's Valleybrook Campus. The workshop fee is $350, which covers the cost of the PufferFish kit and required materials, including a hard cover copy of the Underwater Robotics: Science, Design, and Fabrication (Revised Edition) textbook.  Instructors and mentors may be eligible for funds to cover this fee via the following grants:
    • Niswonger Foundation Department of Education.  This grant supports instructors and mentors in rural communities participating in the STEM LD collaborative facilitated through STREAMWORKS.
    • Tennessee Valley Robotics.  This grant supports instructors and mentors in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) service area.

  • This workshop will introduce teachers to the world of STEM robotics designed for land, air, and water platforms. During the workshop, educators will learn how to use robots, drones, and much more to work together to complete various tasks and challenges. Participants will take either a robot or drone back to the classroom.
